Alumni Social February 10

The Minnesota State University Student Association will be hosting an alumni and student social Friday, February 10 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at DB Searles in Saint Cloud, MN. Come out and catch up with colleagues and alumni. Light appetizers will be served.

Legislative Update

The Minnesota Legislature officially convened January 24, 2012 and the Minnesota State University Student Association has been busy ensuring the student voice is well represented at the State Capitol. Some issues at the forefront of our advocacy over the last couple of weeks include voter identification and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities bonding request. On the federal level we are continuing to monitor the status of the Federal Pell program and working to ensure funding for the most vulnerable students is preserved. MSUSA Hired New Executive Director, Elsbeth Howe

Elsbeth Howe has been hired to the position of MSUSA Executive Director. Previously, Elsbeth served with the Minnesota State University Student Association in a number of roles from 1997-2008 including the position of Director of Research and Policy. She also worked as a law clerk in Mankato, staff attorney for Legal Aid in Pine City, student senate advisor for Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and legal instructor at Minneapolis Business College. MSUSA Conference February 10-11, 2012

The MSUSA board of directors will be meeting at Saint Cloud State University on February 10-11, 2012. They will begin the process of setting next years budget, updating the organizations governing documents, and much more. Click here for more information on the weekend.
